A-list Stars and a US$24,000 Gown
In March 2016 Said Gutseriev and Khadija Uzhakova entered into marital bliss in a luxurious wedding ceremony in Moscow. A fireworks display, a nine-tiered wedding cake and entire walls made of fresh flowers were just some of the ostentatious displays of extreme wealth.
A Young Dentist’s Dream Come True
Khadija Uzhakovs is busy studying to become a dentist at the Moscow University. Her new hubby studied at Harrow School and Oxford University in London before going on to Plymouth to achieve a master’s degree. He is also the son of Russian entrepreneur and poet Mikhail Gutseriev – who happens to be worth around US$6.2 billion. One can only guess who paid for the blushing bride’s gown, which is an Elie Saab creation, freshly imported from France – and is estimated to have cost around US$24,000. According to rumours it was not only the price tag that was heavy – the dress apparently weighed a substantial 25lbs because of the intricate bead work.
Luxury all the way
Guests turned up at the extravagant wedding rumoured to have cost a staggering US$1 billion in all sorts of luxury cars – including a Rolls Royce or two. All of this very appropriate to the new family Khadija has married into… In addition to being a billionaire and owning several companies in the coal and energy industries, her new father in law Mikhail Gutseriev also owns of several luxury shopping malls and hotels.
Party Like Rockstars – With Rockstars
Besides their enormous wedding cake towering over guests, Khadija and her groom enjoyed the romantic ballads of contemporary crooner Enrique Inglesias. The couple and their guests soon put their dancing shoes on and were thoroughly entertained by other A-list stars like Jennifer Lopez in a shimmering gold and black outfit, and Sting who was recorded doing the old-time favourite ‘Desert Rose’. Throughout the night photos and videos of the wedding celebration were being splashed out on Instagram for the world to join the festivities, albeit in a small way. The momentous (and very expensive) evening ended with the big bang of a massive fireworks display.
