Football, Friends and Furry Creatures
Super rich Russian oligarch and football fanatic Roman Abramovich is not only a dog lover, he also does at least some of his own dog walking – even on holiday. The relaxed looking billionaire was seen walking his Corgi while on holiday, accompanied by what at first appeared to be a group of laid-back looking hired musclemen. On closer inspection it became clear that the group of five men contained at least three billionaires, instead of bodyguards.
Not Even Her Majesty’s Corgis are This Lucky
Although the Queen is regularly seen doting on her troupe of Corgis, it is unlikely that her canine companions get to have walks with an elite crew of gentlemen each with a net worth in the billions. Three super rich Russians and a very wealthy Ukranian were identified:
• Evgeny Shvidler – Seen walking at the back of the crowd was the dog-loving super wealthy Russian’s best friend Evgeny Shvidler. Shvidler is also the chairman of the Abramovich’s investment firm Millhouse LLC, and has a net worth of over US$1.3 billion. Their friendship was sealed when Abramovich gave Shvidler a flock of sheep for his 45th birthday.
• David Davidovich – Known as Abramovich’s ‘right-hand man’, Davidovich is a project manager at Millhouse LLC with a personal fortune amounting to around US$1 billion.
• Alexey Polezhaev – The gas and oil magnate Polezhaev is the son of the former governor of the Omsk region in Russia and has a personal wealth estimated at around US$1 billion.
• Alexander Yaroslavsky – One of the richest men in the Ukraine, Yaroslavsky was a police officer before changing his career to businessman and amassing a fortune of close to US$4 billion. Like his friend Roman Abramovich, Polezhaev is also a football devotee and used to own Mettalist Kharkiv FC.
Who is the Happy Hound?
In the photos it is obvious that both owner and dog are relaxed and happy – many of the pictures show smiles on both faces. Unfortunately the lucky doggy’s name is not known. It was however widely publicized that he/she is worth around US$1500.
