Early Life and Career

Vladislav Doronin was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia in November 1962 and attained a degree at Moscow Lomonosov State University. After moving to Geneva in 1985, he gained business experience working under Marc Rich, a Belgian billionaire, and international businessman. Doronin founded Capital Group in 1991.

Launching Russia’s Leading Property Development Company

First launched as a commodity trading company, Capital Group entered the real estate market in Moscow in 1993 when Doronin decided to buy a factory. During this time Moscow was a manufacturing hub and a trend of taking factories outside of the city started, with Doronin and Capital Group leading the exit. After striking a deal with IBM for office space, the businessman decided to continue commercial real estate investments. For several years he provided office and retail space, and then branched out to the residential real estate market and started bringing top foreign architects to Russia. The results of his efforts is an impressive property portfolio that includes a range of high-end residential and commercial projects.

Aman

By considering the synergies that exist between the hospitality industry and the real estate sector, and harnessing his vast experience in the industry with Capital Group, Vladislav Doronin bought Aman in 2014. With over 30 luxury projects that include hotels, residences, and resorts in 20 countries across the globe, Aman is an internationally recognised resort brand. Since the acquisition Doronin has vastly improved Aman’s financial status and operational efficiency.

OKO Group

In 2015 launched OKO Group in the United States. With a focus on Miami and New York, OKO Group brings significant financial strength to the United States along with Doronin’s passion for working with only the top architects around the globe. Some of the leading industry names he has worked with are Zaha Hadid, winner of the Pritzker Prize, the top American architecture company, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and the famous French designer Jacques Grange. OKO Group is known for the redevelopment of the landmark Crown Building in New York and for the development of five major property projects in Miami.
